The Elkton kayaking couple

Jarett and Laura are an Elkton couple who spend a great deal of their time kayaking the rivers and lakes of South Dakota. They not only go kayaking on warm, sunny summer days, but on cold windy, rainy days as well. You can also find them paddling on the lakes way in the middle of the night, wearing their miners lanterns.

Greeting from Elkton, MD. In working our our historical society blog I was doing some googling to see how our entries turned up. That caused me to trip across the Elkton Farmer. I just spent a few minutes reading through your fine weblog.

Elkton SD sounds like an interesting community and I enjoyed reading about some of the folks out there, such as your official weatherman, and others. Does he do cooperative reporting for the National Weather Service. The postmaster here did that from about the 1940s until the 1970s.

I got a fine sense of a strong community after reading about your Elkton.

Thanks for producing the interesting blog.

Mike
